Steven Smith has distinguished himself as an entrepreneur, consultant, and educator. He began his career as a product development engineer for Procter & Gamble. He then joined PepsiCo, Inc. as an engineer in the Engineering and Packaging Development Group. In over seven years with PepsiCo, he held a number of engineering and management positions.

As a management consultant, Dr. Smith has worked with PA Consulting of London, the BTS Group, and the Competitive Strategy Group. He is currently Managing Partner of the Florida Institute of Finance. He has provided advisory services to firms as diverse as AT&T, Sony Corporation, Xerox, Cingular Wireless, Humana, Schroeder Bank of London, Federated Department Stores, Digicel, and Kickstarter. Dr. Smith has also worked with a number of start-up businesses. He continues to provide consulting services to a select group of clients in his role at the Florida Institute of Finance.

In his academic career, Dr. Smith has held faculty positions at the University of New Orleans, Rutgers University, Columbia University, The Federal University of Bahia in Brazil, Southern Connecticut State University, and Florida Atlantic University. His research and teaching are in the fields of strategy and international business. His research has been published in journals such as the Journal of Management and Information Science, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Health Care Manager, Economics of Education Review, and College & Research Libraries.

As an entrepreneur, he has worked on a number of start-ups in the entertainment, tech, and consumer products industries. He is currently CEO of Vegan Worldwide, LLC, a company he founded in 2013. He is currently working on a number of new products and companies that will be launched in 2016.

Steve has a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, an MBA, and Ph.D. in strategy and international business, all from Rutgers University. He currently resides in Boca Raton, Florida.
